TACKLING ILLEGAL SUBLETTING – ITS TIME HAS COME - Dr Robert Barr, R D Barr and Associates

Illegal subletting impacts not only on housing department services but on housing benefit budgets. Despite recent attempts to encourage Councils and RSLs to tackle the problem, serious attempts to curb illegal subletting has fallen by the wayside. In this presentation Dr Rob demonstrates that illegal subletting prevents the most vulnerable from being properly housed and is paid for through HB budgets. New Government restrictions on LHA now make the matter a critical issue.

CRM systems have become a part of the corporate landscape and are used as key systems when it comes to creating a customer services function, be that face-to-face or call centre. Robert has worked on many such CRM projects. His expertise covers Private Sector, Local Government and the DWP's New Deal project. Robert tells how the benefit back office, visiting and fraud functions need to interface with and take advantage of CRM. He will explain what the objectives are in having such a system and how electronic claiming is an integral function to making CRM and benefit systems work in harmony
